Thank you Alia for sharing.
Take a look at one of my performances with "Live Music". It is an art form, wonderful to do as well as watch.
->  Belly Dancing is a fun and a valuable class to offer.
The City of Rancho Cucamonga discriminated against Bellydance/Middle Eastern dance.
The supervisors' said: "They do not want "Belly Dancing classes" in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.
--->>As of March 2017, the City of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. will not offer Belly Dancing classes.
The Video is of VAR DAGHDEVIRIAN, Maurice Saba and Rico Orrell and me dancing with them.
This was my last performance with them.
Var passed away after a long battle with Cancer on July 25, 2017.  My heart is broken and I miss him everyday.
💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
There is and will be a huge void in my life now and forever without my  wonderful, talented, funny, fun husband Var Daghdevirian to share life with.
Thank you City of Rancho Cucamonga!
They knew my husband Var Daghdevirian had cancer and I would be there for him no matter what.
They chose to discontinue my classes even though I had been teaching there for 24 years, always prepared and ready for a new class. This is how they treat a long time independent contractor because of their greed and discriminating views of: Middle Eastern/Belly Dance
This is what has happened in the last year of my life after loosing my husband Var.
Thank you, Jenny Hanlon, Katy Cox and Daniel Schneider for the handling of my situation involving harassment, intimidation, discrimination and lack of respect for me, my style of dance, (Belly Dance) as well as the way I taught Middle Eastern dance.
Good luck --- Karma!
One year later:

I miss you Var. Everyday is a struggle without you by my side.

Var Daghdevirian:  Plays the doumbek and sings in several languages. He's an incredible Armenian style drummer that has played for some of the best dancers in the field of Belly dancing! Dancers enjoy working with him and makes each dancers experience entertaining, exciting and memorable with the emphasis on FUN!  He is Armenian, second generation American Armenian from Turkey, and is fluent in Armenian, and some Turkish and is a very talented musician and lots of fun to work with! (Plus the best part for me is that he's my husband :-)

If you are interested in Cabaret style music, Var Daghdevirian has 2 CD's available for purchase.
"Tapestry of the Dance" as well as "Sirocco". He is the featured singer and on both CD's as well as his great drumming style. Check with him when you see him at an event or contact Cyriana for more information and where you can purchase CD's It's great music!
Cyriana also has them available to purchase in her Belly dance classes.
Sirocco has: Turkish and Persian music. Tapestry of he Dance has: Turkish, Armenian, Greek, Persian and Arabic songs, all good! There is 1 complete routine on each CD as well as several wonderful separate songs for dancing including Rompi Rompi on "Sirocco".  A favorite for Belly dancing Karshilama Turkish dance gypsy style or American Cabaret style Belly Dance.
Rico Orrell: Plays the Oud and sings in several languages as well, (he also plays the doumbek) and is extremely knowledgeable in many different style of Middle Eastern music, and is an accomplished guitar player. He has also played for some of the finest dancers in the field of Cabaret dancing.
He has a special place in my heart and dance career as he was the first musician I worked with when I relocated to Southern Calif. from the Central Valley of Calif.
Maurice Saba: Plays violin, also very talented and versatile, and is from the Middle East, and is fluent in Arabic. He also plays the Oud, and can play Arabic style as well as Turkish style.

Together they play for the joy that music brings to the audience and dancers as well as the friendships we have all made in the Middle Eastern music and Belly dance community!

The music, and these musicians are talented and diverse, they play a variety of music, songs and styles, including; Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, (classic style for Egyptian style dancing), as well as a few Greek and Persian songs that could be included in a Classic Cabaret Belly dance routine.

...Dancing to Live Music usually requires a dancer to be able to dance without the use of a choreographed routine, improvising and dancing with the musician. (Some dancers work with  musicians and have a complete routine choreographed for their shows. ) A complete Live Music routine Cabaret style can be between 12 and 20 minutes or more..
